Welcome to the Dyslexia & Dyscalculia Academy

Dear Parents, Teachers/Tutors, and Students,

I extend a warm and heartfelt welcome to you all as we embark on a new chapter together here at the Dyslexia and Dyscalculia Academy.
This academy has a very special place in my heart, and it all started with a remarkable journey, one that my daughter, Alice, undertook with courage and resilience. She faced the challenges of severe dyslexia and emerged on the path to success, shining brightly.
Alice's journey has not only filled me with love and admiration but has also served as an inspiration that I couldn't keep to myself. Her unwavering spirit and determination in the face of adversity are a testament to her character.

Furthermore, our family's journey took an unexpected turn when my son was later diagnosed with dyscalculia. This additional challenge sparked a new chapter in our lives, one that reinforced our commitment to understanding and supporting individuals with learning differences.
Beyond the academic achievement of passing her GCSE English exams, Alice has shown that dyslexia is just one part of the incredible person she is becoming. Her journey sparked my own back in 2010, prompting me to delve deeper into understanding dyslexia, which ultimately led to the creation of the Dyslexia Academy.

This journey has allowed us to touch the lives of numerous students, providing them with the support and tools they need to overcome obstacles and thrive. Yet, it's essential to recognize that Alice's journey has taught us more than academic success. It has illuminated the beauty of the human spirit, the boundless potential within each of us, and the immeasurable love that a parent feels for their child.
As I pen down these words, I'm reminded of countless moments of encouragement, late-night study sessions, and heartfelt conversations that have shaped this journey. I am reminded that success isn't solely about grades; it's about the love, passion, and personal growth that occur along the way which is how the Dyslexia and Dyscalculia Academies were born.

So, as we celebrate this milestone together, I invite you to reflect on your own journey and the journeys of those you hold dear. Let's remember that our worth isn't solely measured by results but by the love we invest in every step, the resilience we display in the face of challenges, and the inspiration we draw from those we care about to help them be the very best version of their true selves.

It has taken years of Dyslexia and Dyscalculia Specialist Teacher training to develop the tools to ensure that any potential barriers are knocked down and that my children and now your can excel and be their very best version of themselves. Like our Motto states,  Life in Fullness, Potential Excelled and I thank you for being a part of this deeply personal and meaningful journey. The support you will receive from being a part of our amazing community within the Trust means we can celebrate triumphs, embrace challenges, and share the message that dyslexia and dyscalculia don't define us- and with the right tools, through our diagnostic assessments and unique 3 way support Tier framework, your child/student can truly shine!

With warm regards,
